Hi everyone!
I sure hope everyone had a great weekend!
This weekend is a McKillip Family tradition. The last full weekend in July is always the Pacific Northwest Highland Games & Clan Gathering. This year was the 66th Annual Clan Gathering in Enumclaw. It is so much fun. This event is a must do! All kinds of fun things to do for everyone. The Isle O’ The Wee Bairns is fun for the kids & a nice rest for the parents. They can play a chanter, wield some drum sticks, learn a fling,or toss a mini caber. There was a cute photo opportunity for everyone.
You can find out all about your family Clan from 62 different Clans tents. Tons of vendors to buy goodies. Athletic events are always a favorite to watch. My favorite to watch is Caber Toss. It is a big log that is tossed. If they would use a small stick I think I could do really well. The Highland dancing, band, piping & drumming is also fun. The pipes & drums are a little loud but enjoyable.
Here is a piper that was really different. When he played his pipes, he can blow fire at the same time. This was really neat to watch.
Each day at 12:00 pm. All of the Clans line up & parade by all of the spectators. Our Clan is Donald.
The Celtic Kennel is fun to check out. All the Celtic breeds are there going through events. You get to see how they compete. The agility section I would love to learn how to do.
We always camp out with Clan MacAle. We always have great food & lots of company. Knuckles & Lyndsey even came up all the way from Monmouth Oregon to camp out with us. We are so glad they did!

The Highland games in Enumclaw is over but there may be one near you. Please check them out it so much fun.
Woofs & Wags!
